WOW it seems sooooo long since my last post - only been back at work for two weeks and it feels like I never took any leave. One of the ladies in the office "broke her finger" and is now off for 6-8 weeks - so the rest of our team has had to carry her work load, which has sort of made it extremely difficult to come home and find some time to scrap. I had such a great holiday - we didn't go away but I stayed at home with girls and we really rested well, got heaps of scrapping done,, and spent most days with Kelly, Taiga & Raven. I tell you Kelly & I are almost as bad as Emma & Taiga and we just need to see each other every day and do a little SCRAP TALKING, catching up seeing what Kelly's latest LO"s are. .
I have managed to complete the Dare 14 from NZ Dares, where you had to use circles to inspire a LO. I have used the Urban Lilly range of PP, Heidi Swapp Plastic Letters, plus some rings from kelly, and some buttons to brighten it up.

i have also done a couple of the Embellished Challenges with Kelly and completed this LO of "My New SHoes" for their monthly sketch challenge, I used the new Flourish stamps which I got from
Lisa as being the first person to register on her site - which was extremely generous of Lisa. I read a couple of weeks back on Nic Howard's blog how to use beads on your LO - so I have tried it on the flourish's which I stamped on the bottom, just to give it a bit of Dimension.

Well that's all for tonight, I did tell Kelly that I wanted to do some scrapping tonight, so I am going to sign off now and get off the net otherwise I will not scrap.........

A Couple of new LO's

Friday Night I challenged Lara & Lesley to do a Lo of their children with the chicked pox as Lara's children have it at the moment, so here is my Lo which I have created relating to the theme. I have used all BASIC GREY BLUSH RANGE which I got from my January Kit over at Meg's. - I really love the way it came out, especially with the circle idea. kelly was saying that she find it annoying with the HS letters which are suppose to be adhesive but aren't - I have found that all the L/C letters seem to have no adhesive on them,

Taiga came for a sleepover last night, phew they must be nackered today, because they finally got to sleep aroun 10h30 last night and that was after I sent DH in to tell them to go to bed because they were chattering away. Then around 06am this morning I heard Emma calling Taiga to wake up - LOL - It' was Taiga's 5th birthday party today and I had promised Kelly that I would not get them to bed late - WELL they had one over me - needless to say I think they will both be in bed by 8pm
tonight fast asleep. Just before they went to bed, I took a couple of pic's of them (as a scrapping MUM would) and quickly did this LO last night - I have used BAZZILL CARDSTOCK, Bazziil Flowers, and some heidi Swapp Plastic letters, the Frame is homemade covered in Creative Imaginations paper. I have stiched around the edges and then did my journalling around that. I used the BLUE VERSA COLOUR INk to ink the background as I could not find quite the right paper to put behind the photo's.

I must just say that I had soooo much fun with girls during the holidays, we went to the beach & swimming almost everyday. It was back to work & the normal way of life on Monday which was pretty YUCKY!!!!!! Kelly & I spent almost everyday together, and we got lots of scrapping done, I did some of the challenges on the Embellished Forum which was pretty Cool but KELLY the scrapping queen that she is, WON the cyber crop challenge - WAY TO GO KELLY - your LO's were stunning.

Janine's 12 Day Challenge (Continued)

All the fun & excitement of Christmas is now over and I have been scrapping up a storm, managed to finish all my LO's for Janine's Challenge.

"FAMILY FEAST" - Challenge # 2< I made my very first HAM ever, and my DH & DD thought I would crazy taking a photo shoot of the ham, but they just don't understand how proud I am of having made it. Tyson enjoyed the bone on Christmas day.

CHRISTMAS EVE - Challenge 11 was spent with my very good friends, and we had our Christmas Eve dinner with them. I have done the LO sort of like a Colour Blocking theme however instead of using paper for the colour blocking I have used the Rubons.

Next was Christmas Day Challenge # 10 - I have done two LO's of Christmas Day, one of the morning where Santa had left all the pressies and the other where the girls were playing with their new toys. The day was spent just with our family together, we had a late breakfast followed by a couple of games with the girls, Abigail got the new CSI game which was quite alot of fun, and Emma got a Polly Pocket Game. Emma also absolutely loved her WHITE BOARD, she says that she wants to be a teacher when she grows up and the most important gift she got was her "POINTER". Such a little angel.

DAD got a hammock from the ladies at work, and put it up, Abigail decided to have a read of her Magazine in the sun outside on Boxing Day, I managed to capture this and created my LAZY SUMMER Days LO for Challenge # 7. - I just love the way this one has come out, I got the vellum flowers for Christmas from Eve (our special friend), and paint around the sides , I even wrote the word "LAZY" out in my very own handwriting - not bad I thought.

Challenge # 12 - all the things I'm Thankful For.... this one was pretty easy - I have used 12 presents / hearts as embellishments and 12 pieces of cardstock cut out for the wording / journalling.

Just wanted to Thank Janine for this great Challenge, I had alot of fun coming up with new ways to creating LO's and it's been awesome having a look at everyone's LO's - I hope you all had a very MERRY CHRISTMAS, and I wish you all the very best for 2007.

Janine's Challenges - some more LO

Well finally the 15th arrived - I went to buy our Christmas Tree from a place just down the road from work (near Villa Maria out by Auckland Airport), and only for $25.00 what a bargin./.....

Friday afternoon, left work an hour early to go and sneak some Christmas shopping in before picking the girls up from school - WOW having a Christmas List makes it soooo much easier - I managed to get & out of Botany within half an hour and all my Christmas shopping was done, quickly popped home to drop all the pressie's off and managed to get to school 10 mins early for the girls - RECORD TIMING......

After picking the girls up we went to do the monthly grocery shop and got home around 5pm, afterwhich the girls quickly helped put all those groceries away so they could start decorating the tree. I took loads of pic's but only managed to use five.... here's my take on CHALLENGE # 1 Janine's challenge "The first challenge is around the Christmas Tree

I've used the papers which I bought at Lisa's - the got the SEI Doodley -Doo Holiday collection - it was well work it, comes with 12 double sided cardstock, two loads of lettering stickers, 1 page of diecuts and 1 page of stickers plus some fuzzy iron on transfer's which are really YUMMY.

I scrapped till 1am on Friday night and managed to complete CHALLENGE # 6 as well which was Emma's 1st School Concert held on Tuesday 12th December. It was rather nice to see a concert which does not have your normal Christmassy themes and her class decided to do a dance of the "5 speckled Frogs" which was absolutely adorable. Have used a couple of rubons, some of those YUMMY KI Memory Ponseitta's from (SBO) and just a few odds of ends for this LO

Saturday morning Emma woke up at the crack of dawn, and made her room was nice & tidy as Saturday was the day at Taiga was coming over for a play - Emma was sooo excited and just could not wait, we collected taiga around 10h15am and the two girls played & played and did a couple of crafty things, and just had loads of fun. They decided that they wanted a sleep over, so we walked over to Kelly's to ask but unfortunately Taiga had her someone coming over - nevertheless - the sleepover was postoned until the Holidays. Luckily for me both girls are used to having their photo's taken and I managed to get some really cute shots of the girls, I have decided to make "Making New Friends" as CHALLENGE # 8. I used the scrummy SEI Velvet paper which was used extremely sparingly - simply because it's sooo YUMMY - cannot waste it at all, the letters are from the SEI Doodley-Doo Holiday range and some flowers & little embellishments. The hidden journalling reads "Emma & Taiga met through MUM & KELLY's on-line scrapping.... Taiga came for a play and they played the whole day without on argument or fight - hopfully this will be the beginning of a very long friendship"

The last challenge which I have completed is the
CHALLENGE # 9 - Keeping in Touch - I have used the Photo which was the one we picked for our Christmas Cards, used all the SEI Doodley Doo Holiday range together with some wonderul Poinsetta Flowers and a little bit of bling.

Well that's all the scrapping I've done this weekend, plan to do the rest next week, to everyone who reads my BLOG, I wish you a wonderful Christmas and a very very Happy new year.......

A Big Thank You

Just wanted to say a BIG Thank You to Janine for the lovely challenge, the RAK which I won on Sat and hard work you have put in creating this challenge it is going to be a great deal of fun for everyone entering, NOT TO MENTION THE YUMMY PRIZE......

I am soooo excited to start the rest of my challenges, I popped over at Lisa to get some more Christmas Papers. WOW for those of you who are local you have to stop buy, Lisa has some really nice papers & lots of Christmas Embellishments.

I was soo exicted when I got home, I called Kelly to rush over and have a look at all the papers - Like a true scrapper on a rampage, Kely was there within minutes of my call - SCRAPPER COMING THROUGH......

Emma & Taiga hit it off and hopefully will be having a play date on Saturday,(I see a photo opportunity arising) and poor little Raven the girls kept locking him out of Emma's Room, but at least he enjoyed Tyson's company (our little BIG JACK RUSSEL) who left licking on the face.

I also bought my first subscription for the Monthly Packs over at Megs - I just simply couldn't resist the BLUSH Papers, looks soooooo cool, and have you seen those YUMMY Bazzil Cardstocks..... WOW WOW WOw...

Today is our 15th Anniversay, yes 15 wonderful years together, to Richard my darling husband - I love you with all my heart and I cannot wait for the next 15 and more years together. You are my rock and my best friend,

12 Days of Christmas - Challenge # 5

I've been thinking about this Lo all day at work, wondering how I was going to put it all together, WELL I have to say a HUGE Thanks to JANINE as my "MOJO" IS BACK in full force, I came home - popped over at Kelly's as she lives up the road - just went to swap some letters with her, came back and got straight into it, I managed to complete this LO in under an hour, WOW I think that's a record for me.

This is the last of my KI Memories paper which I used yet again, (Cannot waste wer'e scrappers we use everything he he ). Heidi Swapp Letters covered in Kindy Glitz and the wording is printed on the computer using various fonts. I must say this is my first LO not using a Photo - but I am very pleased with the way it turned out.

I am just loving this challenge and I cannot wait to see what tomorrow brings.

12 Days of Christmas - Challenge # 4

This was a really fun challenge, I got to work this morning and checked out Janine's blog and started thinking straight away - I couldn't wait for the girls to go to bed so I could start working on my LO - sorry about the picture but I took it tonight so it did not come up so well. I managed to get another LO completed with the papers from the Chris Millar Class - not bad really 3 x LO's with 4 pieces of paper. So I've used the KI Memories Christmas Paper again (aren't they just gorgeous) and the Bazzil Letters again, with some little bottle top embellishments I bought at K-Mart.

12 Days of Christmas - Challenge # 3

Horray - finally I have been able to complete one of Janine's Challenges. I have decided to complete the challenges for this using this year's Christmas, so I have not been able to do the first two as I need to wait (1) to put the Christmas Tree up on the 15th and (2) Wait until Christmas day for the "feasty" photo's of the food. Needless to say when I checked Janine's blog today I have over the moon because I actually could do it today!!!! So here's my take on the Girls wishlist...... Hope you enjoy it. 12 DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE

Janine has put out a 12 days before Christmas Challenge how exciting and has kindly offered her January Tarista Pack, WOW what a prize..... Today the challenge started, but I will be collecting each challenge and doing them as I complete my photo shoots .... We only put our Christmas tree up on the 15th, so that's when I will start Challenge Number 1 - which is all about your Christmas Tree.

Also decided to do a Christmas Album this year, which will fit in well with the Challenge, well actually it was after Janine's Challenge that I thought WOW wouldn't it be great to have a Christmas Album.

Last night I did the Chris Millar class on-line over at SBO which was alot of fun and I have decided as this was the first Photo Shoot for this year, I would put that in the front of my Album. All the PP were MI Memories Christmas paper, (WOW aren't they fun) and then some Kindly Glitz basically with a bit of your own journalling.

Over at Kelly's I have been watching all her challenges which she does for Embellished and decided to do one of their challenges, Nov/Dec Sketch Challenge - The used to scrummy Crate Paper which I got from Meg and some rubons, I'm pretty pleased with the way it came out.

I am so excited as the Girls are going to a Christmas Party with one of our friends and DH is playing golf ----- So guess what MUM"S DOING ---- yip - I'm gonna stay at home and scrap scrap scrap - I cannot wait.

anyway, need to go and cook now, will update tomorrow.

Daringcardmakers Doodling Challenge

Abigail & I have been a bit busy so we were unable to do the last two weeks card challenges, (it was Abigail's 11th birthday so we had lots to do and organise) - Abigail's card came out really well, she did the BEST WISHES one, using the Bo Bunny paper, with a Cherry Arte Butterfly and Maya Road Rubons, and then doodled around the card and the butterly.

Mine was a bit simpler, and more traditional as I did a Christmas card, with plain Navy Blue C/Stock, and gold doodling around the edges and two stickers.

Have also completed my NZ Dares L where you had to use the Ad for inspiration, whether you used the circles, colour blocking or the colours, I think the colours fit in perfecting with the picture of Emma, the greens and purple just link nicely together.

WOW I cannot believe it's only 30 days before Christmas, haven't done much Christmas shopping, but will be doing it this weekend, as the girls are going to a Christmas Party for the day on Saturday with a friend. The girls and I also completed our Christmas cards so need to get those off next week,

When I was a little Girl.......

I know it's been a long time since my last post - BAD BLOGGER as I am, it's a very busy time of the year for me at work and just have not had tooo much time to sit and scrap. Kelly & I went for over to TRACEY 's(Possum- from SE's forum)house on Saturday for a scrapping afternoon / night - WOW Tracey has such cool stuff - she has 5 different sizzix fonts - paddle punches and heaps of lovely goodies which I did try out. It was also soo cool to scrap together giving each other ideas, and Kelly helped me with my LO for the Bi-Weekly comp at SE which was to create a LO using a special quote or sentence - I used the words "WILL YOU MARRY ME" - - My DH and I got engaged at his 21st - we were childhood sweethearts and went to school together, and it was pretty special because I had no idea, and everyone else knew we were going to get engaged and he proposed in the back of this Bentley which I had organised to take us to his party, when I got there, I was so excited and just wanted to shout out "WE'RE ENGAGED" but everyone knew besides me and my best friend Ursulla.

OK so tonight I finished my World Wide Dare for NZ Dares - pretty pleased with the LO, used GG Papers, BG Letters; GIN-X letters, Cherry Arte Flowers, and a Maya Road SWIRL. It's all about the things I loved to do as a little girl.

Oh I have to mention have you seen the lovely monthly kits that Meg at SE has!! Alas, I have had to reduce my order to bare minimum as my budget is a bit stretched at the moment, what with Abigail's birthday yesterday and Christimas coming up, I will be putting a few things on my "WISH LIST" for Santa though.

Finally Got to the Auckland ZOO

Well finally a weekend without Rain (Horray we shouted) - Emma woke up this morning and the first thing she said was "WOW what a beautiful day to go to the ZOO today MUM!!!!!!! yes we were off to the ZOO this weekend on the 1st day without rain (which fortunatley happend to be Saturday!!! We got there @ 09h24 with 6 minutes to spare (my dad would be soo proud of us - waiting outside a place for it to open), rushed through and started our day- WOW WOW WOW is all I can say, they have upgraded it sooo nicely ( a tad expensive $52.00 family pass - but we have been planning this day forever). Here are a couple of pic's - WATCH THIS SPACE for a LO very soon. Our favourite spot was visiting OZ the Sumatarian Tiger - WOW he was sooo playful and just came up to the window - you will never guess that these photo's were taken through a glass window.

Special Memories

This LO is a very special one, it's for our friends Simon & Angela all the way in Dubai, I am hoping that they log on my blog sheet so Angela can see what it is I do, the reason for this LO is because it brings back fond memories of when we went away for the weekend with them to a place called "UTOPIA" - They are in the process of moving countries again, somewhere closer to us - SYDNEY - so in doing this I am trying to get Angela to start scrapping - Ang you will meet plenty new friends just like I have on-line, starting over in a new country is not easy but this way you can keep yourself busy and start friendships.

Phew thanks to Andrea at SBO I am back on-line again, it was extremely frustrating because I was sooo eager to load my pictures, I have finished the Diamond Challenge LO of my little Niece ELLA Rose at an animal park - Philip Island in Melbourne. I just loved the photo sooo much, and I think that the LO came out pretty well.

Well pretty crappy weather today, and we were suppose to go to the ZOO - I had the paper, heading, LO and everything sorted, all I needed were the photo's but then again the lovely Auckland Weather certainly did not come to the party.

Anyway thanks to Janine I managed to get my sidebar sorted with my links, still have to update some more but at least it's a start.

Anyway back to my scrap table to work up some more YUMMY LO's

Well I have a major problem, been scrapping up a storm for the Challenges at SBO and tried to login this morning to upload my images and I forgot my password, it's not that easy when the email address you have given is your work email and you are sitting at home trying to upload the images - HMMMM What a bummer I tried too many times and now I am CURRENTLY BANNED from the site..... I have just sent Andrea an email for a PLEA OF HELP!!!! Anyway thought I would upload the images here,

so I cannot remember the challenge numbers but, here is my take on the PURPLE Challenge "HIP CHIC" - I used K&CO Papers with Purple Basill C/Stock, the flower border is chipboard from the REAL BIG CHIPBOARD which I got from LISA WOW The are just FABULOUS, Letters are a mixture of Basic Grey & Heidi Swapp with 2xSEI Brads.

FRIENDS - Is the Using 6 or more Buttons and Three different Ribbons Challenge, Again I have used the REAL BIG CHIPBOARD for the flower, covered with BO BUNNY Paper and used Doodlebug Design Paper as the main page, using various different ribbons, and backing the Photo on C/S and then again, to make space for HIDDEN Journalling. The Letters A & A stand for ABIGAIL (my daughter) and her friend ABBY, I used the MM chipboard.

CHEEKY MONKEY - this was my favourite LO - Challenge was to SCRAPLIFT someone's work in the Gallery - I was so inspired by the CHRIS Millar class (which I missed) I Decided to scraplift it for the challenge. It just all blends in well. Thanks Chris for the Inspiration, it was a real challenge to do it on my own, but I am soooo pleased with the result, The photo of EMMA is also just so fitting to the LO plus the Title,

OK that's all for now, need to go and make breakfast and clean up the house, before I can attempt some of the other challenges, JUST hope that Andrea can sort out my CURRENTLY BANNED problem.

New Start ****

Well I woke up this morning and checked all my usual websites, only to find out that SBO had posted several challenges over the Long week - WOW How Great, I had to nip out to get a couple of goodies to fit in with the Themes of the challenges and then decided it was time to tidy up,. Check out this BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES of my Scrap Space

After 4 long hours and tiding and throwing away and sorting everything out, finding stuff which I had stashed away to hide from my DH, here is the end result

Just a quick update - it's very late, thought I would just share with everyone, I have just finished my DT Entry for Scrapbooking by Design and now we wait and see until next week, good luck to everyone who has applied.

NZ Dare challenge results come out tonight as well as Scrapbook Essential Fortnightly Challenge Number 4. SO GOOD LUCK EVERYONE.

Well it's definately been a busy couple of weeks, we have finally finished renovating and the house looks great. I have also managed to get a couple of challenges out of the way, I think my favourite one would have to be the Black / White Challenge at SE for the month of Oct, Here my favourite LO's which I completed for this challenge - DANCING QUEENS - Emma & her two ballet friends, TAYLIN & MAYA

I have also completed my NZ Dare Challenge 9 - Orange . Green with one other colour, loved this challenge as I love all the colours.

Scrapping Weekend

WOW all I can say is that I scrapped my little heart out this weekend, starting on Friday night I joined in on the http://www.scrapbookoutletnz.co.nz/ on-line crop and had an absolute ball, I managed to get through the first challenge with my 1st LO (I Love You),

second challenge was set for Saturday night 8pm - making cards, managed to make 3 cards ready for birthday's and Christmas and continued scrapping through until 1pm (Phew was I tired).

Next challenge was set for Sunday night 8pm, My Favourites and I managed to get 2 completed, one of my Favourite Room and one of My Favourite things about you. Managed to complete mega LO's towards the Queen of Crop Challenge - too many to mention, have only posted a couple here.

NZ Dares # 8

Here is my very first NZ Dare Challenge which I have sent through, I used the Scenic Route Paper, as well as Scenic Route Charlotte Chipboard embellishments. It was quite difficult to create a page where the subject is male and to encorporate "Flowers" but overall, I think it's come out OK.

Here is my layout for the SE Fortnightly Scrap Challenge " NUMBERS". I have used the number 13 & 3 as this is our very lucky number as my DH and I were married on Friday 13th, Abigial (the oldest daughter) was born on Monday 13th, and little Emma was born on Friday 3rd August. Also Emma started school this year and her class number is 13 - I tell you I must buy a lotto ticket with those numbers, as they are really "OUR NUMBERS"
